How can the DHCP be configured to refresh the DNS records after a given time interval?
As far as my other settings go, in the IPv4 "Properties" under DHCP Server, I have gone to the DNS tab and made sure that "Enable DNS dynamic updates according to the settings below:", "Always dynamically update DNS A and PTR records", "Discard A and PTR records when lease is deleted", and "Dynamically update DNS A and PTR records for DHCP clients that do not request updates..." are all selected.
Dont have a router there, only a 3750 tied in via a fiber link.
I have been looking at the Cisco docs for getting this to work but nothing yet.
I also tried static settings in the available range and tried using open DNS IP addresses.
They also have a laptop which connects to the same router wirelessly using DHCP and it is working fine.
Hi, My parents Windows 7 PC has suddenly stopped being able to connect to the Internet.
Using the "Diagnose problem" feature in the Manage Network Interfaces panel results in a message claiming that it cannot reach the DNS server and that the connection needs to be reset. It is connected to a DSL router via an ethernet cable. If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices.Using Netflow, I could see the ip address of the offender but couldnt see the hostname of the computer/workstation that was the offender. Here is my config for DHCP on the switch -ip dhcp pool PC network 10.1.70.0 255.255.255.0 domain-name dns-server 10.1.1.1 10.1.1.2 default-router 10.1.70.1 lease 8This is an office across the street from the main building. So, does anybody have any ideas or tips or anything for me to try and implement?
